    "Visions of Grandeur" Cameo by Darkseid. And, "The Racer's Edge." In this double feature, Brainiac and Lex Luthor return to plague the Man of Steel. Plus, Morgan Edge is paid a visit by the Black Racer of the New Gods.

    • "Visions of Grandeur" written by Jerry Ordway, penciled by Curt Swan, inked by Dennis Janke, lettered by John Costanza, colored by Glenn Whitmore and braintrust by Roger Stern.
    • "The Racer's Edge" written by Jerry Ordway, penciled by Kerry Gammill, inked by Dennis Janke, lettered by John Costanza, colored by Glenn Whitmore and inspiration by Jack Kirby.
    • Both stories are running concurrently. The top half of the page is the story "Visions of Grandeur" and the bottom half of the page is the story "The Racer's Edge."
    • Superman only appears as a hallucination in the story "Visions of Grandeur."
    • Desaad is impersonating Darkseid in the story "The Racer's Edge."
    • Right half of the cover is a homage to the cover of Superman #167.
    • Chronological continuation in Adventures of Superman #458.
