    Origin

W'Kabi was a fierce loyalist to Wakanda & rarely trusted outsiders. He didn't like Monica Lynne or Everett K. Ross & he suspects both of them of having ulterior motives toward T'Challa. W'Kabi was in charge of the Wakandan defenses against the destructive path of Morlun. But the army of Wakanda failed at stopping the monster and W'Kabi died at his hands while trying to protect the defenseless T'Challa.

W'Kabi appears in the live-action Black Panther movie, portrayed by British actor Daniel Kaluuya. In the film, he is shown to be T'Challa's closest friend, Wakanda's chief of security and the lover of Okoye. It is also revealed that W'Kabi's parents were murdered by Ulysses Klaue whom he holds a deep hatred for. When T'Challa fails to bring Klaue back to Wakanda, W'Kabi loses faith in his leadership. Upon Erik Killmonger's arrival to Wakanda with the body of Klaue, W'Kabi is quick to support Killmonger's claim to the throne. When T'Challa returns to Wakanda to overthow Killmonger, W'Kabi rallies his troop to attack the former king. However, when Okoye threatens W'Kabi, he stops his attack and aids T'Challa once again.
