    Origin

Thog is a splintered persona of Satan; a Hell Lord who came into existence after being formed from the energies left behind from the final battle of the being Demogorge against the Elder gods. Like all such avatars, he has a distinct personality, pattern of behavior, and "signature." However, he conforms in virtually all respects with the raging, utterly evil, sadistic monstrous aspect of the "classic" Satan. He came to preside over the realm of Sominus.

Thog was a long-time enemy of Man-Thing and many other heroes, including Doctor Strange and his Defenders, Jennifer Kale, Dakimh the Enchanter, Korrek the Barbarian, and Howard the Duck. Thog has also kidnapped and later battled Steve Gerber.

    Creation

Thog was created by Steve Gerber and Rich Buckler.

    Powers and Abilities

A powerful Hell Lord, Thog has many conventional demonic abilities, including the ability to fire bolts of flame and mystical energies, and the ability to teleport through self-constructed portals. He can increase his various physical capabilities to unknown degrees, granting superhuman strength, speed, and durability. Like many other of Marvel's high-class demons, Thog is considerably more powerful within his own realm, even to the point that he can manipulate reality. Thog can also disguise and alter his appearance.
