    1. Be Sure of Your Facts!: (public service message from Buzzy / written by Jack Schiff)
    2. The Death of Young Clark Kent!: (Superboy) Trying to assist with some medical research, Superboy bores a hole deep in the earth, accidentally releasing a subterranean snake-like creature (soon dubbed the Gem) that moves in a "straight line" (that somehow goes through Paris, Cairo, and Fort Knox before getting back to Smallville), destroying everything in its path. Clark is seen being absorbed by the creature and is thought dead. To fix this, he makes it seem he was instead somehow dropped into an old water main.
    3. Casey the Cop: (gag strip by Henry Boltinoff)
    4. The Riddle of the Rarest Animals: (Superboy, Ma Kent, Lana Lang, Prof. Lang, Mrs Lang) Clark companies the Langs on a trip to Africa where Mr. Lang must find a rare horned animal.
    5. How to Make It!: (activity page)
    6. Our Gifted Children: (full-text article)
    7. Varsity Vic: (gag strip by Henry Boltinoff)
    8. The School Without a Teacher!: (Superboy / written by Don Cameron) when the entire faculty of Smallville High is quarantined for 4 weeks, Superboy steps in to teach all the classes so the school doesn't need to close.

Man: ...in memory of Clark Kent, who gave his life to Smallville!

Superboy: Now that Clark Kent is supposed to be dead--I can't be your son any longer!
