British artist. Commissioned by the British publisher Miller to plot/draw continuations for ending American titles like Wyatt Earp and Annie Oakley.
He also created the superhero Marvelman in 1954, as a replacement for the Captain Marvel material (because of Fawcett ending its publication. The character proved an enormous success in the British market with more that 300 issues and many spin off books (Young Marvelman, Marvelman Family).
Later in life he created his own company, with little success in producing pastiches of Marvelman. He continued holding the rights to the character (despite its convoluted publication history) until he sold them to Marvel in the 2000's.
