What are the top 10 video games of the last generation?
If you think all the top 10 games are from the same franchise, list them as your top 10.

Yeah it is, I found it in a five dollar bin and bought it. It did not come with instructions and yet I some how got pass level 2 without knowing what I was doing. All I know was I was in one ship shooting at others and the next thing I knew was I had won!

I'm decent at games. Luckily or unluckily I tend to have a singleminded focus with things so it allows me to master things to the extent that I can. I enjoy being mechanically challenged of course but I think my favorite games tend to make me associate in some way with the character I'm playing as. RPG's and stat allocation games are great for that as I love figuring out the perfect min max strategies.
@killbilly: That's really cool. Thanks!
Can't think of many but Doom 2016 and Eternal are one of my picks.
You like Doom? I wasn't aware. lol
Thanks.

@infantfinite128: Jedi Fallen Order, Dishonored 2
@ursaber: Thanks! Why? Can you give an explanation?

Just based on those 2 games, or have you kept up with the games for awhile?

@ursaber: Thanks. If you have the time, it would be great to know why you think it's a top game.
1. Crusader Kings II
2. Fallout: New Vegas
3. The Witcher 3
5. Skyrim
6. Disco Elysium
7. Mass Effect 2
8. Telltale's The Walking Dead
9. Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age

Witcher 3
Life is Strange
Yakuza 0
Forza Horizon 3
Player Unknown Battlegrounds
Mafia
Uncharted Lost Legacy
Sekiro
Red Dead Redemption 2
Horizon Zero Dawn
@killbilly: How much time did you take to beat Sekiro. Do you look at Guides when you get stuck or for finding seeds and other items?
I’ll name some that people haven’t named yet
Persona 5/5 Royal: This game. This was the game that got me into the Persona series properly, and one of the games that showed me how important presentation and style can be for a game, cause man does Persona5/5 Royal prove it. The reason I have them separated is obviously because of Royal being the “expanded” version of Persona 5, and you wan talk about improving on an already well made game, I’d say that’s what Royal easily did. From new music, to quality of life changes, to expansion on a certain character as well as introduction to two new characters, it’s hard to find too many flaws in the game, especially if you’re a turn-based jrpg fan
Devil May Cry 5: This was a game that people thought was unlikely to happen. Capcom had made the decision (at that time) to reboot the series with Ninja Theory, and after that, it seemed like DMC (classic) would remain dormant for a long time, until they announced it at E3. When it came out in 2018, you’d be hard pressed to find a better action game. Capcom knocked it out of the park with this one. From the beautiful graphics with the RE engine, to the satisfying gameplay of all three (well, now four) playable characters. DMC had finally made a return, and it returned with a bang. Speaking of Capcom knocking it out of the park
3. Resident Evil 7: Biohazard and Resident Evil Village. The Resident evil franchise was at an interesting crossroads. They were successful with 6, but can reception seemed to be at an all time low. That being said, they made the decision to return to the series’ survival horror roots, so here came RE7. And goddamn was this game fantastic, from the atmosphere and tension to some memorable antagonists like Jack and Marguerite Baker, this game was phenomenal, along with its DLC. That being said, I give Capcom props for continuing that momentum with Village. It was more action oriented than 7, but still maintained that creepy yet fun atmosphere. Just goes to show that sometimes, ya just need to go back to basics
I’ll probably update this later to include others
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and Ghost of Tsushima.
What are your thoughts on Nioh?
1. Crusader Kings II
2. Fallout: New Vegas
3. The Witcher 3
5. Skyrim
6. Disco Elysium
7. Mass Effect 2
8. Telltale's The Walking Dead
9. Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age
10. GTA V
Thank you for your list, but this is for last generation, so if you have the time to come back with another top 10, please do!
@killbilly: How much time did you take to beat Sekiro. Do you look at Guides when you get stuck or for finding seeds and other items?
I take a long time with my games because I want to get my value's worth. I will look at guides to achieve 100% completion though, if it's fun/doesn't try my patience to do so I will do it myself.

I used a walkthrough to get through Dark Souls without too much trouble but I don't think I can beat Sekiro if the game relies on parrying lol. I suck at that mechanic.

Ngl, it does rely heavily on your ability to parry. Warning you now just in case.
@edamame: Nice!
Which character do you want it to be?
1: The Witcher 3
2: God of War
3: Horizon Zero Dawn
Why are they your top 3? They're highly acclaimed but would appreciate your thoughts.
