Thanos is an Eternal. Even if he has a Deviant gene, that would only help him absorb Eternals energy, because Deviants can absorb Eternals energy.

So either way, Thanos has infinite cosmic energy ... without any Infinity Stones.

That means:

1. It took infinite cosmic energy to KO the Hulk

2. Stormbreaker Thor canon could have killed a being with infinite cosmic energy

3. Snapping the Infinity Gauntlet damaged the body of a being that already had infinite cosmic energy

4. Hulk survived an IG snap that is somehow more powerful than infinite cosmic energy

Before anyone says, “Ikaris died flying into the sun!“ That happened immediately after all the Eternals and Tiamut transferred their power into Sersi for the Uni-Mind. Phastos explicitly stated that his advanced technology would give the other Eternals' power to her. Thus Ikaris was drained and not at normal power at the time.

“What if, we can absorb each other's energy as well. If I can find a way to connect us all. One of us could become immensely powerful pulling the accumulated energy from the rest. Forming.... A Uni-Mind.”

Phastos also had already used his advanced technology to_drain Ikaris of energy during their fight.

And Sersi had enough power left over to turn Sprite human. Sprite who also previously had infinite cosmic energy. So Sersi could only drain Sprite of cosmic energy if it was no longer infinite within her.
