More than one and a half centuries after his death, Edgar Allan Poe's poems, novels, and short stories remain an inspiration today, many having been adapted into movies, comics and TV shorts. Edgar himself has appeared as a character in DC Comic's Death: At Death's Door, a manga re-telling of events in The Sandman: Season of Mists, as well as the Vertigo one-shot In the Shadow of Edgar Allan Poe. MAX Comics produced a three issue series of Poe's stories called Haunt Of Horror, with a dark feel brought to the art by horror comics legend Richard Corben. Poe also appeared in four issue series by both Image (Alter Nation) and Boom! Studios (POE), but most notably in the five issue series Batman Nevermore.
