During WWII, the Nazis had found alien technology with scripts, written in an alien language, describing how to use the technology to enhance humans. Feverishly trying to translate the scripts, the Nazis already started using the technology by experimenting on their prisoners of war. Only 1 in 5000 survived the injection with 'Wöden's Blood', a crystalline compound generated in a process somewhat analogous to fermentation. The injection created something called a disruption ball inside the human subject. Containing the unstable disruption ball is the most vital part of surviving the experiment. If not, the disruption ball could rip their body apart.
If contained, the ball gives the enhanced human superhuman speed, strength and invulnerability. The energy can also be used to destroy things. Some humans got the full potential of the powers. They were called Battleships. Others, with limited powers, were called Panzermensch.
However, using their powers would result in weakening their invulnerability.
