Pisces Aphrodite is the last of the Gold Saints introduced by Kurumada in his manga. Aphrodite was a Saint famous not only because of his incredible, mesmerizing beauty, but also for his reputation as one of the strongest among the 88 Saints.
Aphrodite never claimed to be the most beautiful creature, unlike the Silver Saint, Lizard Misty.
Aphrodite uses three different types of rose techniques. The first, the red "Royal Demon Rose", can affect the victim either by the aroma or from a cut from one of the thorns. Once this happens, the victim gradually loses all their senses, passes out, and eventually dies. Aphrodite throws the black "Piranhian Rose" to slice at his opponent and cause massive damage. His most powerful technique uses the white "Bloody Rose". Aphrodite throws the Bloody Rose into the heart of his opponent, and it drains their blood. When the rose has turned completely red, the person dies.
Pisces Aphrodite guards the twelfth and final temple of Sanctuary. When Pegasus Seiya and Andromeda Shun arrived at his temple, Shun attempted to bind Aphrodite with his chains so that Seiya could escape. Far from allowing Seiya to move on to Saga's palace, however, Aphrodite covered the trail with poisonous roses intended to deprive Seiya of his senses and slowly kill him. The roses would have killed Seiya had Eagle Marin not arrived to save him.
Meanwhile, Shun challenged Aphrodite to battle. Aphrodite seemed to take an interest in Shun, and tried to persuade him not to fight, but eventually decided to take the fight seriously. He used several different types of roses with specific properties, but could not penetrate the Nebula Chain's defenses. Shun trapped Aphrodite within the vortex of the Nebula Chain, increasing his Cosmo and telling Pisces to surrender or die. Aphrodite refused, and used his last resort, the white rose, which drains the blood from its victims. Within minutes, the white rose had killed Shun, but not before the Nebula Chain had killed Pisces Aphrodite.
