Creation

Amber St. Clair was created by Kathleen Winsor, an American author, for her debut novel "Forever Amber." Published in 1944, the novel became immensely popular, and Amber St. Clair's character became iconic in the world of historical romance literature.

Alternate Versions

Mistress Amber St. Clair was a ravishing courtesan and a member of Prospero's Men, the first incarnation of the League. Amber was a poor country girl who went from being a prisoner in Newgate Prison to the mistress of King Charles II.
