I like the FTE approach since its superspeed but from the perspective of someone who doesn't have it

Also after images are dope too but they work best (ironically) in a non moving medium

Does energy/light streaks even count? It feels like just an effect the characters have. Flash still uses slow-mo for the majority, and I feel like it just fits under the blur category.

Personally the slow-mo has gotten a little overdone imo. It was cool with Quicksilver, but now everyone's doing it. I think the "teleporting" effect is pretty cool (the above instances from Invincible are great examples of it working well).

I like seeing it from a normal human's point of view where it seems to be instantaneous like teleportation or like there was no movement at all. You can also take a less subtle approach and give it a loud whoosh or a sonic boom to show the power of it. Both have a different effect.

I really like when a character is just moving really fast so blur for me. Makkari vs. Ikaris is a good example of what I'd like speedsters in media to be.

I like the blur and vibration aspect mostly. Like with Pucci's fight or DCAU and Flashpoint Paradox's flash's running.

@seastone98: Flying speed wasn't what I was thinking of but those are good examples. I was thinking about speed like this.

I think this series does a great job of showing speed and power in both the original manga and the anime.

Baki takes buttons off of the guards' shirts without any of them noticing that he moved.

A policeman is looking at Yujiro through binoculars and suddenly he seems to vanish and appear behind him.

I like how it shows you what a normal human sees when the superhumans are moving and their reaction. Invincible does this too.

Blitz/blur/body flicker are the best. Slow motion is cool but it doesn't make the character look fast.

Teleportation works best, for the standard movement in a fight scene. Especially in that anime style, where all their limbs are moving at super speed, and they can just stand there and stuff will just look like it’s passing though them.

Slow motion looks the coolest though.

Blur but with some slo-mo if it is used sparingly.

I still think MCU Makkari was one of the best live action depictions of super speed and one of the few positives to come out of that film.

Honestly......my favorite ever aside from slow mo and makkaari stuff....was

Cyborg 009 nuke scene.

That to me was the pure definition of speed. Once he past the sound barrier it even went silent it was honestly amazing.
