Supposedly, the slow mo scenes were intended to look wacky, but yeah it was still pretty bad.

The only thing that looked off the whole movie was the CGI models of people in the Chronobowl

i actually do believe the director when he said that the people were intended to look waxy and fake. it was just a strange aesthetic decision. however, when the film looked good it looked incredible.

Yes. The Flash has some of the most shockingly bad CGI of any major blockbuster like, ever. DEFINITELY the worst of any post-pandemic major blockbuster.

Makes other recent infamously bad CGI (Dr. Strange's third eye, MODOK's head, Thor's pet goats, etc) look like Avatar by comparison.

The floating child head from Thor Love and Thunder would like to join the conversation...

Endgame is one of the weaker ones. I have no idea why it’s vfx gets praise.

But it’s more on the director not being able to pace them properly and over-reliance on cgi than the vfx artists themselves. Which I believe is why FotR has better effects than The Sorcerer’s Stone while being on a lower budget. Directors must be strategic with it.

It’s like Freddie Francis‘s cinematography quote that there’s "good cinematography and bad cinematography and then there's the cinematography that's right for the movie."

It came across as a stylistic choice.

There’s plenty of good looking effects in the flash. His zoom in run thingy looked great, the phasing through the door scene was gorgeous, other Barry testing his powers look great, all the stuff both batmen did looked great, Barry getting struck by lightning was great a few of super girl’s scenes looked fantastic.

There’s plenty of moments that were crappy but gotta give credit where credit is due.
