Why do people think the mark 1 is stronger than the civil war armor?

Title says it all. It just doesn't make sense to me.

because they delusional and won’t give cap his feats the only statement about civil war is saying noncombat armor that the films contradicts as this suit has a uni beam repulsors missiles lasers and an AI that can literally adapt to someone fighting style like he did to cap but muh noncombat so weaker then mark 1

I can't speak for DP's stuff, I just remember them being a thing a while back. For my own, GangOrca and Greysentinel365 both think the civil war suit is weaker....

Either way I think the armor is clearly less durable than the previous armors and the in-universe explanation is that it was kind of a prototype.

Well to give a few frank comaprisons

Strength

Mark 1 repeatedly sends people flying effortlessly

Meanwhile the 46 struggles with Falcon is a wrestling match

Mark 1 embeds itself in stone with a simple side swipe.

Mark 46 cannot even mark the ground with its strikes

Mark 1 can also send steel doors flying

In physical strength the 1 is > the 46.

Durability

Also very self explanatory

46 was pierced by an arrow

Mark 1 is unharmed by heavy machine gun fire

Also worth noting the Mark 46 was able to be damaged by Caps punches. Thanks to FRIDAY we have the exact force of these punches

Which is barely around the heavyweight boxer tier. Now mind you Cap throwing the equilvelent of haymakers with flurries is impressive on his part. But does not speak highly of the armour.

Now make no mistake the 46 still has petawatt lasers and an assortment of missles, along with its flight and mobility that would give it a win over the 1 in the direct contest. But in these two categories the 46 comes up hilariously short. But that's understandable as

Its a non combat armour. And this is further shown by the bulk of its loadout being, nets, EMPs for disabling vehicles, shackles, lower yield missiles, nerfed repulsors. A formidable arsenal for sure. But substantially below Tonys normal paygrade.

So yes, in terms of raw stat the 46 is weaker than the 1. In terms of overall loadout and power in a direct contest I'd only give it a win over the 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5. Anything past that wrecks it

They're simply standard on the armour. The 43 was only a prototype for the assembly systems that didn't have a combat system installed but still had missles.

Being bulky is just part of its strength. This is still to the superior being completely unable to affect a similar surface.

Lol no. The 46 was only able to slowly pull open its doors while the one was able to outright launch its own. Far superior showing in terms of kinetics.

Because civil war suit is sub super soldier level. That can get easily damaged by the likes of Hawkeye bucky and cap. While Mark 1 can tank high caliber weapons.

@xd_ist: I agree with grey the civil war suit was definitely too weak. That armor was getting damaged by Hawkeye arrows captain America and bucky punches. While Mark 1 is bulletproof

It's bulk caused it to get stuck in a rocky formation.... these are not comparable at all.

It got stuck because it punched itself into a hole. The 46 can't even make a crack.

There's nothing to indicate the 46s door was heavier or put up more resistance. Nor is it comparable to sending the door flying as the Mark 1 did.

In terms of her speaking yes. She does generalize. She doesn't fudge numbers though.
