Best Battles in New Comics: 12-11-15

This week, we're featuring fights from SECRET WARS #8, BATMAN AND ROBIN ETERNAL #10, STREET FIGHTER UNLIMITED #1, and STAR TREK/GREEN LANTERN #6.

It's that time of the week. Time to look at the latest edition of Best Battles in New Comics. Comics often feature big battles with superheroes fighting supervillains. Sometimes we even have superheroes fighting other superheroes. Get ready to cheer and possibly cringe at the brutal punches being thrown.

There will be some spoilers below!

SECRET WARS #8

(By Jonathan Hickman, Esad Ribic, and Ive Svorcina)

On Battleworld, in this reality Doom has created, Ben Grimm was basically a giant wall keeping a bunch of bad stuff out. He's risen and has decided it's truly Clobberin' Time. He starts out by smashing Maestro's helicarrier.

To protect Doom's castle, Franklin Richards has control over Galactus. The fight is a little slow but intense. The fight turns as soon as Ben realizes Franklin is "Suzie's kid."

Of course we have to mention the encounter between Doom and Thanos. Doom questions why Thanos is causing this destruction. Thanos basically tells him he's not worthy of being a god. He knows what it's like from when he had the Infinity Gauntlet. Problem for him is, he doesn't have the Gauntlet now.

Ouch.

Only one issue to go!

BATMAN AND ROBIN ETERNAL #10

(By James Tynion IV, Scott Snyder, Jackson Lanzing, Collin Kelly, Roge Antonio, Geraldo Borges, and Allen Passalaqua)

Jason Todd and Tim Drake have found themselves teaming up with Bane. Sure it's strange but then they find themselves facing Azrael and the Order of St. Dumas. Could this be Jean-Paul Valley?

No Caption Provided

Bane, being Bane, takes the lead and attacks Azrael. He soon discovers Azrael is more formidable than he thought.

Azrael really puts a whammy on Bane. Jason and Tim get away but find themselves up against him soon enough.

They should be able to take him out, right? You'll have to read the issue to find out.

STREET FIGHTER UNLIMITED #1

(By Ken Siu-Chong, Joe Ng, and Espen Grundetjern)

We see Ryu contemplating using the dark force Satsui No Hado. He feels it not using it would be holding him back from reaching his full potential. As he gives in, Sakura refuses to believe that Ryu is gone. Big mistake. They fight for a bit and then...

Is that the end of Sakura? This is only the first issue!

Ken comes up to try to "talk" some sense into him. And by talk, we obviously mean, beat.

No Caption Provided

They fight for a bit as well. There is no forgiveness here. It looks like Ryu has completely given in to the darkness.

"Ugh."

Where to go from here? What will Gouken have to say about all this? You know the answer. You have to buy the issue to find out.

*Bonus*

STAR TREK/GREEN LANTERN #6

(By Mike Johnson, Angel Hernandez, and Alejandro Sanchez)

The Green Lantern Corps and the crew of the Enterprise have joined forces and are fighting Nekron.

Hal fills them in on how powerful he is. Defeating him won't be easy.

No Caption Provided

Obviously, phasers aren't going to cut it. They start using power rings against Nekron and his army but it's Kirk that gets an idea when discussing the "entire spectrum of emotion."

No Caption Provided

Kirk figures they should all give their rings to Spock. Do you see where this is going?

We'd tell you what happens next but sadly, we're out of time.
