  • There will be 14 corporate sponsors, and each one can only be picked once. Once a sponsor has been chosen by a participant, it cannot be chosen by anyone else. Each sponsor will have 3 perk choices, and you may only choose one perk for each round. If you make it to the next round, you can change your perk.
  • Every battlefield will involve some amount of fodder, such as civilians and/or guards. They can be ignored, killed, manipulated, etc.

Characters

You have 6 points to spend on characters in order to form your team.

Essentially, 1-point characters are low-street, 2 and 3-point characters are mid-street, and 4-point characters are high street.

The criteria for each category is the maximum. If the criteria is wall level, then the character cannot exceed wall level but can be below wall level. If a character you want has the strength and durability of a 1-pointer, but the speed of a 3-pointer, they would cost 3 points.

Wall level refers to a standard brick wall. House level refers to a standard house. Small building level refers to a small building with 3-4 stories. Building level refers to a building with 5-8 stories, i.e. NOT a skyscraper.

Speed includes movement, reaction, combat, and attack speeds. A 4-pointer's speed cannot be hypersonic, i.e. higher than Mach 5.

For durability, a single strike that can destroy the object of that level should be enough to seriously harm your character. A 4-pointer must still be capable of being harmed by armour-piercing rounds or high-caliber rounds such as from long-range rifles, magnums, and heavy machine guns.

A bloodlusted Carnage should be able to solo your entire team in a random encounter under the limits/rules of this tournament, without taking any sponsor perks into consideration.

Low Street Level (1 point)

  • Striking Strength: Wall Level (busting a wall in 1-2 strikes)
  • Lifting Strength: 1 Ton
  • Durability: Wall Level
  • Speed: Arrow-Timing or Aim-Dodging (subsonic, under Mach 1)
  • Energy Projection: Wall Level

If your character can bullet-time, even handgun bullets, they are too fast for 1 point.

Low-Mid Street Level (2 points)

  • Striking Strength: House Level (busting a house in a few strikes)
  • Lifting Strength: 5 Tons
  • Durability: House Level
  • Speed: Non-Casual Bullet Dodging (supersonic, Mach 1-2)
  • Energy Projection: House Level

If your character can bullet-time automatic gunfire or deflect multiple handgun bullets, they are too fast for 2 points.

Mid Street Level (3 points)

  • Striking Strength: Small Building Level (busting a small building in a few strikes)
  • Lifting Strength: 10 Tons
  • Durability: Small Building Level
  • Speed: Bullet Dodging (supersonic, Mach 2-3)
  • Energy Projection: Small Building Level

If your character can deflect automatic gunfire or react to sniper rounds, they are too fast for 3 points.

High Street Level (4 points)

  • Striking Strength: Building Level (busting a building in a few strikes)
  • Lifting Strength: 15-20 Tons
  • Durability: Building Level (Can be resistant to small-caliber gunfire)
  • Speed: Casual Bullet Dodging or Bullet Deflecting (supersonic+, Mach 3-5)
  • Energy Projection: Building Level

If your character is faster than Mach 5 or can react to explosions, they are too fast for 4 points and above the limits for the tournament.

Voting Rules

  • Only the two participants are allowed to debate.
  • If you want to be tagged to vote at the end, comment "T4V"

  • Votes based on obvious character bias will not be counted.
  • Be respectful, honourable, and civil.

Posting Rules

  • 3 posts each
  • 7 days to post
  • If you need an extension, let me know before the 7 days are up and I will allow you a 3-day extension (for a total of 10 days). Only one extension per round will be allowed.
  • Failure to post on time will result in disqualification and an automatic victory for your opponent.

Mission: Escort the VIP

Team A (King) must escort a VIP to the delivery point ("C"). Team B (Chris) must intercept and bring the VIP to a different delivery point ("D"). The VIP is an unarmed civilian, immune to all damage/effects, must remain on foot, cannot be flown/teleported, and will go with whichever team is in direct physical contact with him.

There are 15 civilians and 20 guards spread throughout the map, with 5 additional guards positioned near the VIP's starting point. The guards are on high alert and will shoot either team on sight. Each guard is a trained Navy Seal equipped with an assault rifle and combat knife. Civilians will not attack, but they will scream and alert nearby guards if they feel threatened or are attacked. There are also five security cameras around the map, one of which is aimed at the VIP. Being caught in a hostile act by a security camera will alert all the guards. All the cameras are on street-level.

Team A Objective: Escort the VIP to Delivery Point C (escort VIP on foot or kill enemy team and then escort VIP)

Team B Objective: Intercept the VIP and bring them to Delivery Point D (escort VIP on foot or kill enemy team and then escort VIP)

Watchpoint: Gibraltar map from Overwatch
Watchpoint: Gibraltar map from Overwatch

A = King Spawn Point

B = Chris Spawn Point

C = King Delivery Point

D = Chris Delivery Point

VIP = VIP Spawn Point

Best of luck!

@kingcrimson & @chris2kzombieki

Please PM me your perk choice. I'll update the thread once you both do so and then you can get started. If you don't care about your opponent seeing what perk you pick, you can just post it here instead.

Feel free to also post a collage of your team and I will add it to the OP.

No Caption Provided

This will focus on Insomniac's version of the web head and Rocksteady's version of The Dark Knight. Batman will be current, but will not have tie in comic feats. Insomniac Spider-Man will be as of Spider-Man 2 with no Symbiote.

Batman

Physical Capabilities-

Bruce's physical capabilities, while they aren't the highest, are nothing to scoff at. He's able to casually destroy wooden tables, he did this again but with a medical table againstProfessor Pyg. He's also able to easily cut a sword with his gauntlets. Bruce can also just casually break through glass windows. Bruce, in weaker suits than his suit in AK, is unscathed by being thrown through a brick wall.

In terms of speed, Bruce usually uses stealth to his advantage. He can take out an entire room full of people before they can properly react, which lets him slide through some gunfire.

Stealth and Skill

Bruce is the stealthiest and most skilled person here. It's not even up for debate. Bruce can take out entire rooms full of people with being seen. These takedowns are so effective he can take out people who are a good couple feat away from him. This is consistent in the game. I mean he can sneak into a building with trained militia without them noticing. His best stealth instance imo is his encounter with Mr-Freeze, who adapts to each takedown so it doesn't work twice, but Bruce still won that fight.

Using Arkham Asylums character bios, we know Bruce is an expert in most known martial fields.

No Caption Provided

Further proven when Bruce in, whats essentially his year one, takes out Deathstroke as well as the other 7 assassins sent to kill him, which he does in a single night. Which I'd like to point out, is another thing.

Arkham Origins, Arkham Asylum, Arkham City, and Arkham Knight are, canonically, beaten in a single night. Which is a testament to Bruce's skill, as a majority of the time it's filled to the brim with assassins and other trained fighters.

Gadgets

Bruce's gadgets will also be very important here.

Spider-Man

Physicals-

Peter's strength in the insomniac games is nothing to scoff at. While it might not be comparable to his 616 counterpart, he's still able to lift large amounts of debris(Lifting Strength) and momentarily stop a crane from falling (Pulling Strength).

Lifting Strength: For lifting strength, the most common piece of strength you see is Peter lifting cars with mild difficulty. He's also able to pull a truck out of the way of a train

Pulling Strength: Peter can also pull down helicopters which are already in motion.

Now for the main event, Peters scaling and striking strength. In the first fight of the game, Peter slams Kingpin through multiple floors.Note that Peter had already been damaging him from the fight, and Kingpin was relatively unbothered by being hit through multiple floors. In the DLC, Peter damages Hammerhead's armor, albeit slightly, which had tanked a helicopter explosion, twice, etc.

Peter consistently harms' Rhino, who no sells everything happening in the video. Including but not limited to jumping through multiple buildings and walls, and tanking the entire power plant explosion. Peter is able to hurt and defeat Electro who no sold the destruction of a smokestack.

Peter once again gets some very good strength feats. And some feats that he should compare to Miles with. For instance, Miles just casually swings around these large chunks of debris. Peter on the other hand is just swinging around water tanks. This would also count for striking, as when he does this again he kicks it to Marko.

Peter can casually swing through automatic Gunfire, which he does so consistently. This also goes as far as him statuing a rocket launcher (Not above limits I don't think). Yes, he's even reacted to minigun fire.

He's able to no sell being slammed through walls. And while he is damaged, he recovers soon after being poisoned and beaten up by the sinister six. This resulted in have 16 broken bones. And throughout the rest of the game its presumed he's fighting in that condition. He also no sells a punch from shocker that breaks a safe door.

He also tanked the Smokestack feat in addition to surviving all of this (Was KO'd after an extended time) which is more than the team can output.

It's also safe to say Marko's pretty damn danm powerful too because his sand can destroy a good chunk of buildings.

No Caption Provided

This is in addition to in the entire fight Miles and Peter being tossed through buildings and across city blocks. With Peter being downed for a couple while in a handful of the instances.

Spider-Sense

Common theme with Spidey battles is Spidey Sense, here's a small list of its...feats I guess?

For now I think thats all I need to touch one when it comes to what it can do.

Gadgets

(Here's a video with the gadgets)

  • Web Shooters- Peters standard web shooters that can help restrain or blind enemies.
  • Ricochet webs- Webs that bounce off walls.
  • Upshot- A gadget that shoots enemies into the air, also stuns bigger enemies.
  • Sonic Burst- A blast that bounces enemies back and lets out a loud burst of sound.
  • Web Grabber- Pulls both enemies and objects to a specific space.

We of course have the spider arms that electrocute enemies as well.

Opening Thoughts and Strategy-

It’s sufficient to say, that Peter and Bruce won’t have a hard time here. I’m not aware of the enemy team, but the goal seems to fit well with these two. With Peter’s mobility, he and Bruce are more than capable of reaching the VIP early. since just one of them needs to be in physical contact with the VIP, Peter can hold off the team with his gadgets and physicals, while Bruce intercepts the ViP. Once the VIP is secured, he will use his fear toxin to get the surrounding guards and civilians riled up, which will create a big enough distraction for Peter to leave and help him escort the VIP. From there, as they escort the VIP, Bruce can continually lay traps that will slow down the other team, by the time they catch up, we’ll already be near the escort spot.

Tokio Kurohara - [The Beast of Prophecy]

No Caption Provided

“It’s something of an affliction…”

It is said that Choujin are bequeathed the form or power most becoming to them, and that for a human with the capability to become a Choujin, they require some kind of obsession or strong world-view in order to awaken. For Tokio, with his inferiority complex and over-reliance on his friend Azuma, he took the form of a vulture.

Following a timeskip period in the story, Tokio relieved himself of the shackles of his own self-doubt under the tutelage of his Spartan-like mentor, Ichiro Sato. Fond of extreme and aggressive training methods, Sato steeled Tokio into a highly skilled combatant, one capable of abusing his then-fledgling abilities in combat.

Tokio’s fighting style is based on karate, kendo and judo, but altered to fit his unorthodox build and powerset. At range, he will often abuse his mobility via his flight, harassing and blinding his opponents using his sharper-than-steel feather storms, allowing for or forcing openings in CQC.

We see an example against another mercenary, I.C, where Tokio uses his pinpoint accuracy to permanently wound him (more on that shortly), before closing the distance and utilising his grappling skills to land a flying arm-bar and restrain his opponent.

In a contest of strikes (and even whilst sporting a broken leg), Tokio’s skill and dexterity makes him difficult to handle or defend against…

…if the opponent manages to open up the distance, Tokio can immediately attack with his feathers again, forcing them to defend or dodge and breaking the line of sight, which he’ll use to his advantage.

His strength is such that with little-to-no leverage, he can punt Ume, who is decently strong in her own right, through a thick concrete wall and up into the night sky. Pair that with his skills and super-speed, on top of his monstrous regeneration, he is a force to be reckoned with, and is easily the most dangerous character in this match in a straight fight.

Tokio is my team’s “Spear”.

Ichiro Tanizaki - [The Armed Detective]

No Caption Provided

“In the end, hurting others is the only way we can save people.”

An agent for for a government funded special operations division called the Armed Detective Agency (ADA), Tanizaki is a human gifted with an ability known as “Light Snow”.

Light Snow gives him the the power to create physical illusions in space so it appears however he desires. He can use this ability to create “clones”, make objects invisible, or completely rearrange an environment as he sees fit. Basically, he’s MCU Mysterio without the need to rely on drones.

He has at times been shown to carry with him a standard issue pistol, and also a knife for personal defence, but his role in this match is not planned to be an offensive one.

Tanizaki is my team’s “Support”.

Qifrey - [The One-Eyed Witch]

No Caption Provided

“Since the day of the pact, it was decreed that no witch shall abet war or quarrel. Do you know why? It’s because when you’re up against a witch, it can hardly be called a fight.”

Qifrey is a master witch with a mysterious past. Supremely adept in a form of magic with almost limitless applications, he strikes a perfect balance between being a supporting character and a dangerous opponent in his own right.

Though he most commonly uses water magic, he can control all the elements, as well as use magic with various other effects, such as illusions and flight.

Though Qifrey is a “pointed-hat”, a type of witch who refuses to use forbidden magics, he is still exceedingly powerful when he is forced into combat. Qifrey’s abilities, amongst other things, allow him to essentially function like a water-bender (more like an avatar), except he can generate massive amounts of water from nothing.

His applications of water magic in combat can range from the physically destructive, such as this house-sized water dragon:

Or the silently deadly, like the water spheres he can instantly summon and envelop his enemies in, drowning them:

Qifrey is my team’s ”Specialist”.

Initial Plan

Similar to my opponent, I can repurpose much of my initial post for this fight, too. My plan isn’t a convoluted one, but it needn’t be, as my team are again quite suited to a task like this.

Using Qifrey’s and Tokio’s flight, with Qifrey carrying Tanizaki, my entire team can rapidly fly to the VIP, who is much, much closer to my team than Chris’ team.

Spidey’s own mobility will mean little here, given my team have similar (if not outright superior) mobility and Chris is spawning around five times the distance away. There is no scenario where we will not reach them first.

Upon nearing the vicinity of the VIP, Tanizaki can blanket the area with Light Snow, rendering my team and the VIP invisible. Qifrey will create a smoke clone of the VIP as a decoy and leave it at the original spawn point, whilst Tanizaki will make direct contact with the actual (now invisible) VIP, forcing him to go with them.

Whilst this is happening, Tokio will have flown directly past the VIP and will look to engage the enemy team. Given his vulture-vision allows him to spot targets up to 1km away, even in the dead of night and high in the night sky, he shouldn't have any issue spotting Spider-Man and Batman rapidly advancing on where they believe the VIP is.

Tokio can engage at range using his feathers to blind and obscure their vision, and draw his attention away from the “VIP”, further selling the deception. Tokio, with his flight, speed, strength and skill can keep the duo busy, but should one of them manage to sneak away to escort the “VIP”, they will simply be met with a smoke clone, whilst the rest of my team simply waltz to the extraction zone unencumbered.
